Abraham Lincoln has always been an inspiration to me because of his humble beginning.  He had a life of great adversity from beginning to end.  He acted miraculously in his ability to learn, grow and become better with each adversity.  President Lincoln failed forward his entire life.  He had great courage which was a result of great faith and perseverance. 

Most people who face but a few of the great struggles which President Lincoln faced would give up, wish for the best and live a life of quiet desperation.  Lincoln did expect to learn from each experience and to become better, not bitter.  The Civil War was very difficult for him with incompetent Generals, and such a great struggle for this young nation.  God smiles when he would see Lincoln constantly pray and seek his counsel on great decisions.  Thank God for such a great leader for this great country.
