Sitting in the front row

By Dr. Robert Schuller

"O God of our salvation, You who are the confidence of all the ends of the earth." - Psalm 65:5

Why do people rush to get the front seats in a football field, at a baseball game, or in the live theater, while the front seats in the average church are the last to be occupied? The answer seems obvious.

We want to maintain space between ourselves and others who might conceivably intimidate or threaten us. We want to be "in" but remain at a safe distance. Sit in the front row? Never! We might be noticed.

Perhaps you are still struggling with an inferiority complex so you stand outside the circle or attend only large gatherings where you can hide in the crowd. Why don’t you have enough faith to be aggressive? Will you ever have the faith to sell yourself? If not, what doors will remain locked to you forever? What human experiences will never be enjoyed?

Can this fear be overcome? Can such behavioral patterns, probably rooted deep in childhood, be corrected and changed?

Yes! Of course! You and I simply need more faith in ourselves and in God. Decide today to tackle this lifelong pattern of negativity with self-confident aggression.

The best seats in the house are waiting for the people of faith!

Don’t miss out on the action! Grab a seat for yourself in the front row now. The same people who dare to sit in the front row are the "go-get-’em" type who are almost always one step ahead of the competition. They’re going places!

You’ll meet new friends. One of the new friends you’ll meet who will change your life will be the new you!
