"So, here’s where my credibility came from. In the beginning, Fred Harties did a meeting for me. And he told the guys I sponsored ‘you listen to Brett.’ That was the very beginning of my credibility. I interpreted those actions as him saying to me, ‘Brett, I have worked hard to build a lot of credibility. I’m well-known. I’m honorable. I have done everything I can to be a credible human being. I’m gonna loan you my credibility because I’m your support team. Please don’t tarnish it or embarrass me.’
Listen carefully to that. When you have a relationship with your mentor, their credibility is on loan to you every time they edify you. Don’t ever do anything to tarnish their credibility or embarrass them.
No matter what I’ve ever told people about Fred or how good I’ve spoken about him, when that person met Fred and talked to him, he never let me down. Fred was always more than what I built him up to be. It’s not possible for me to edify him enough. You know why? He does whatever it takes to set the example."
